Product Manager Personal Safety
Develop personal safety solutions that protect people when every second counts. Own the product journey from customer need and technology to launch, growth and impact across Europe.
Do you want to develop products and services that help protect lone workers, care staff, teachers, pupils and others when personal safety matters most? As Product Manager for Personal Safety, you will turn customer needs, market insight and technology into strong solutions and bring them successfully to market across Europe.
AddSecure is strengthening its Personal Safety product team, and we are looking for a Product Manager in Stockholm who enjoys combining product development, customer insight and commercial thinking with a hands-on understanding of connected technology.
AddSecure is a leading European provider of secure IoT connectivity and end-to-end solutions. We help customers optimise operations, create business value, and secure vital functions. Our solutions are used in buildings, alarms, transport and logistics, personal safety, elderly care, construction, municipalities, schools, rescue services, power grids, retail and more.
Within our Personal Safety business, we provide cloud-based solutions for personal and incident alarms, portable alarm devices, alarm handling with video verification, and push-to-talk communication — supporting organisations and their people when it matters most.
About the job
As Product Manager, you will own and develop a portfolio at the heart of our Personal Safety business. The portfolio includes our cloud-based incident response platform and solutions for portable personal alarms with positioning and dispatch. On this platform, we have built offerings for verticals with a growing need for personal safety solutions, including schools and businesses with lone workers.
You will be responsible for understanding customer and market needs, shaping the roadmap and working closely with R&D to develop solutions that create clear customer value. You will also play an important role in bringing products successfully to market through positioning, packaging, pricing and go-to-market activities.
The portfolio is live in five markets — Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany and the UK — through both direct sales and a growing reseller channel. This means you will own products at different stages at the same time: scaling new market introductions, and taking full responsibility for the existing installed base, its lifecycle and its profitability.
This is a hands-on product role. Our services run on the AddSecure IoT platform, and you will work closely with the technology — testing and verifying solutions to understand how they perform in practice, and understanding how a subscription-based, platform-delivered service actually behaves commercially and technically.
Our products are used in situations where seconds matter and the user is often under stress. That puts user experience at the centre of the role: how an alarm is raised, how an incident is handled, and how quickly a new customer gets up and running are product decisions, not details.
You will report to the Product Director for Safety Solutions and work in an international team of Product Managers, close to Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations and our country teams.
What you will do
Own and develop the roadmap for your portfolio, translating customer needs, market insight and technical opportunities into clear priorities.
Take full ownership of the portfolio end to end — from new offerings and market introductions to the lifecycle, quality and profitability of products already in the field.
Grow and develop our personal alarm, alarm handling and communication offerings, and identify opportunities for new products, services and markets.
Own the user experience across the portfolio — apps, alarm handling interfaces and the everyday flows our customers depend on — and work with UX, R&D and real users to make solutions that are fast, clear and reliable when it matters.
Work closely with R&D throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and requirements to testing, launch and continuous improvement — including writing requirements that are clear enough to be estimated and delivered.
Lead the market introduction of new products and services together with Sales, Marketing, Operations and country teams, including positioning, packaging, pricing, sales enablement and launch material.
Support our expansion in the UK and Germany, including regulatory and compliance-driven requirements such as Martyn's Law in the UK.
Follow revenue, margin, adoption and other relevant product performance indicators, and use the insights to support priorities and business cases — including recurring revenue, hardware margin and total cost of ownership.
Drive digital initiatives related to the portfolio, including customer-facing tools and the solutions used to install, commission and support products — with the same attention to user experience as for the products themselves.
Represent AddSecure at relevant trade fairs and industry events, and bring market insight back into the product roadmap.
About you
You are a hands-on Product Manager who enjoys being close to both customers and technology. You are curious about how products work in practice and comfortable moving between technical discussions, customer needs and business priorities.
You can create structure in a complex environment, make decisions based on incomplete information and bring different stakeholders together around clear product priorities. You are self-driven: you take ownership of a topic and drive it to a conclusion on your own initiative, and you are comfortable taking products all the way from idea and development to launch, operation and continuous improvement.
We believe you have:
Drive, pace and a strong sense of ownership — you are the engine in your own portfolio, you keep things moving, and you take responsibility for the outcome.
At least 3 years of experience in product management, product ownership or a similar role within B2B technology.
Experience working with technically complex products or services, ideally within personal safety, alarms, security, connected hardware or other safety-critical environments.
A strong feel for user experience, and the habit of working with design and R&D to make products simple and dependable to use — including for users who are stressed, untrained or on the move.
Experience with subscription- or platform-based services — understanding how recurring revenue, releases and an installed base shape product decisions — combined with an understanding of connected hardware.
Experience taking hardware, software or connected services from development to market, and keeping them healthy afterwards.
Strong product and commercial judgement, with the ability to balance customer value, technical feasibility and business impact.
The ability to work effectively across R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations and international teams.
Technical fluency to work confidently with connected hardware, software and cloud services, together with a willingness to test and understand products hands-on.
Experience engaging directly with customers and partners and translating their needs into product priorities and requirements.
A relevant academic background or equivalent professional experience.
Fluent English, spoken and written.
It would be valuable if you also have:
Professional Swedish or another Nordic language.
Experience from IoT connectivity, SaaS or telecom.
Familiarity with European alarm standards or personal safety standards such as EN 50136, BS 8484 or DGUV requirements for lone worker protection.
Experience working across several European markets, including the UK or Germany.
