About the job
As an Accountant at Smart Transport Nordic, you play a vital role in our team. You will report to the Finance controller and you’ll work closely with colleagues in Finance and collaborate with departments like Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and service-minded. You enjoy taking responsibility, supporting your team, and sharing knowledge. Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. For the right person, there are great opportunities to gain experience within finance or other areas of the business.

Profile and Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a large international or group structure
• Proven experience with high-volume transactions and knowledge of subscription-based business models is an advantage
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central-SaaS and Exflow.
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to see the broader financial picture
• Organized, self-driven, and solution-oriented with a proactive approach to improvements
• Team-oriented with a high degree of professional integrity and reliability

Day-to-day accounting operations including:

• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Accounts receivable – invoicing, collection, bad debt calculation, accruals, reconciliations and documentation.
• Accounts payable – administrate in exflow, send for approval, payments, reconciliations and documentation.
• Manage VAT and tax declarations and ensure compliance with local financial regulations
• Tangible Assets register
• Administration of certain business agreements
• Development of routines and processes linked to your duties – digitalization & effectivization
• Other tasks occurring in the finance department e.g. booking of accruals, provisions etc
• Involved in closing the books on a monthly and yearly basis including balance sheet reconciliations and audit support.

About you
To thrive in this role, we believe you are adaptable, proactive, and positive, with a strong sense of ownership and a collaborative mindset. You quickly grasp new topics, take initiative, work in a structured manner, and are comfortable suggesting improvements. You see the bigger picture while understanding the importance of details.

You have at least 5 years of experience as an accountant in a larger international organization. A post-secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting is considered a plus. Experience working in high-transaction environments and familiarity with inventory and subscription-based businesses are advantageous.

You will work in the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and in Office 365 (especially Excel). Strong skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, are required due to regular interaction with both local and international stakeholders.
